India vs New Zealand Live Score Updates, 1st Semi-Final: IND vs NZ, Rohit eyes revenge against familiar foes

India vs New Zealand Live Score Updates, 1st Semi-Final: IND vs NZ, A ravaging Indian side led by skipper Rohit Sharma takes on the New Zealand at the historic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Wankhede Stadium holds fond memories for India with the 2011 World Cup final that India won played here.

Rohit’s India are the highest ranked side on the ICC World Cup points table with 9 wins from all their 9 matches so far. However, Indian team management would be vary of how the Men in Blue were also the top ranked side in the tournament in 2019 when they lost to the Kiwis by 18 runs in the semi-finals.

This Indian side has been the standout team in the tournament and are looking balanced in all departments. The Indian pace attack featuring Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj have been the envy of all the teams in the tournament while the spinners – Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja – have managed to dismantle the opposition sides in the middle overs with a mix of defensive bowling.

New Zealand, on the other hand, are not the team to be bogged down by the big names in the Indian playing XI and will instead look to play their style of cricket that has made the Kiwis one of the most successful sides in world cricket in the recent past.

The Black Caps will want the young cricket prodigy Rachin Ravindra to fire once more against the hosts on Wednesday while skipper Kane Williamson will continue to burden most of the responsibilites in the batting lineup.

India vs New Zealand Live: ‘Past is past’ says Rohit

India vs New Zealand Live: While addressing the press on the eve of the high-stake semifinal, Sharma was asked whether the team thinks about what happened in the 2019 World Cup. “In the back of your mind, you know what has happened in the past but what has happened in the past is the past,” he replied.

“What you can do today and tomorrow is what we usually talk about. I don’t think there is much debate or talk about what happened 10 years ago or the last World Cup,” news agency ANI quoted him as saying.

“Half of the guys were not even born when we won our first World Cup (1983) and then when we won our second World Cup (2011), half of the guys were not even playing the game. For us, the current crop of players are very much into what can happen today. I don’t see them talking about how we won the last World Cup or the first. The focus is on how they can get better and what are the things they need to improve. The focus is always on the present,”
