Ayodhya Ram Temple: 7 rituals ahead of inauguration

The Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be consecrated on January 22, 2024. Here is a look at the rituals lined up from January 16 to 22 as part of the ceremony.  

A priest appointed by the Temple Trust conducted the 'Dashvidh' bath ritual on the banks of river Saryu. The rituals involved the worship of Lord Vishnu and Godan. 

The idol of Ram Lalla was taken in a procession to the temple premises in a truck amidst tight security.

 Rituals will start with Ganesh Ambika Puja, Varun Puja, Matrika Puja, Brahmin Varan, and Vastu Puja.

Agni Sthapana, Navagraha Sthapana and a havan will be performed.

The temple's sanctum sanctorum will be cleaned with the holy water of Saryu. Rituals including Vaastu Shanti and Annadhivas will follow this.

The deity of Ram Lalla will be bathed with 125 urns following which the Shayadhivas ritual will be performed.
